Ashwell State School is a small Prep to Year 6 school located on Reinke Road, near Rosewood in Queensland's Lockyer Valley region.
Our school has been part of the local community since 1887. Today, we welcome students and families from Ashwell, Rosewood and surrounding communities and are proud of the strong relationships that continue to shape our school.
At Ashwell, children are known, valued and supported as learners and as individuals. Our small-school environment allows staff to know students well — their strengths, interests, learning needs and the support or challenge they may need to continue making progress.
Learning at Ashwell
Students learn in multi-age classes, with teachers planning and teaching towards the Australian Curriculum expectations for each student's year level.
We have high expectations for every learner and a strong focus on quality, evidence-informed teaching. Our work is guided by three important priorities:

- knowing, monitoring and responding to every learner
- building a safe, inclusive and connected school culture.
Strong foundations in reading, writing and mathematics are central to learning at Ashwell, alongside opportunities across the full Australian Curriculum, including Auslan.
Learning also extends beyond the classroom through sport, swimming, camps, excursions, performances, leadership opportunities and connections with neighbouring schools and our wider community.
