School grounds and classrooms

The school has a sporting field, multi-purpose court, cricket pitch, play shed and two adventure playgrounds for two different age levels.

Ashwell State School is a small country school which opened in 1887 with one building which is now used as a classroom, tuckshop and staff room. Two extensions to the original building once housed the library but are now used as office space and a meeting room.

Over the years more buildings have been added.

Two demountable buildings each with double teaching spaces are used as single classrooms.

The new library was opened in 2012 and has student, teacher and parent resources, computer lab, lounge area and large screen TV and DVD player.

All classrooms have been fitted out with interactive whiteboards.
